Bought the portable exterior rigid drive to back up my aperture photo library on my mac pro. The reason i wanted a portable hdd was to keep a back up of my photo library off-site via doing a back up once a week.mounting to a mac running os x 10.5.8 (leopard) was no problem plus theo- drive was immediately detected plus shown as toshiba. The box states Toshiba 640 GB HDDR640E04XR cooperative with os x 10.4 plus windows xp/vista plus will probably work with a windows 7 plus a linux os. The usb 2.0 interface is fast plus theo- drive itself does not require exterior authority as it comes from theo- usb interface. The usb 2.0 cable is included with the hdd, although its short. When accessing theo- drive for read/write there is a blue led which indicates activity. The nice thing is that the drive doesn’t seem to reach hot plus aesthetically is quite appealing in its blue color. Fit plus finish is superb as well.
